This Privacy Policy describes how AstroVeda — Planner & Meditation (“we,” “our,” or “the App”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to generate your Vedic astrology birth chart (Kundli) and provide personalized readings:

• Birth Details: Date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth — required for astronomical calculations
• Name: Used only for display within the app
• Gender: Used for gender-specific Karaka analysis as prescribed by Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS)
• Questions: Text of questions you ask about your chart

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for:

• Calculating your birth chart using Swiss Ephemeris–validated astronomical algorithms
• Generating personalized Parashari interpretations based on your chart data
• Processing your questions through our interpretation engine to provide chart-specific answers

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing astrology readings.

3. Data Processing

When you ask a question, your chart data (planetary positions, house placements, dasha periods, and other calculated astrological factors) is sent to our secure cloud function hosted on Google Firebase (region: Asia South 1) for interpretation processing. This data is:

• Transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
• Processed in real-time and not stored on our servers after the response is generated
• Not shared with any third party for their independent use

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: Cloud function hosting for chart interpretation processing. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy
• Anthropic (Claude): Language model used for generating natural-language interpretations of calculated chart data. Chart data sent to Anthropic is not used to train their models. Subject to Anthropic’s Privacy Policy
• Apple StoreKit: In-app purchase processing. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and is never accessible to us

5. Data Storage

Birth chart data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage mechanisms. We do not maintain a server-side database of user profiles or birth charts. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is removed.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties. Your data is never used for:

• Targeted advertising
• Data brokerage
• User profiling or tracking across apps
• Analytics beyond basic app functionality

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App may be used by parents or guardians to generate birth charts for their children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your data: Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data
• Access your data: All your chart data is visible within the app at all times
• Opt out: You can stop using the app at any time with no residual data on our servers

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data transmission, Firebase security rules for cloud function access, and Apple’s App Transport Security (ATS) compliance.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
